KNITWEAR
Here are our tips for keeping knitwear soft and fluffy:
Step 1: washing
For our knitwear, we recommend hand washing in cold water. Do not soak your sweater for more than a few minutes to prevent felting. You can use a special wool detergent, preferably liquid.
The garment should be washed and rinsed gently, without pulling the knit, to prevent it from losing its shape.Â
Machine washing is possible if the care label indicates it, but check that your machine has an effective cold wool cycle with a very gentle spin.
We recommend wrapping your knitwear very carefully in a towel and gently pressing to remove excess water before drying.
Step 2: drying
Do not tumble dry. Drying flat in the open air is highly recommended, preferably on a towel, remembering to fold the sleeves so they do not stretch.
Always avoid pulling the knit, even slightly.
Step 3: ironing
Ironing is not necessary if the washing and drying have been carried out correctly.
If you do need to iron your sweater, remember not to press down on the knit and prefer ironing very gently on the reverse side.
VISCOSEÂ
Viscose is a beautiful, fluid fabric… but also delicate. To keep it as soft as the first day, prefer hand washing to machine washing:
Step 1: washing
If your care label indicates hand washing, treat the garment with the utmost care (do not wring it). Immerse the garment in cold or lukewarm water (max. 20°C) with detergent and gently rub for a few minutes, then rinse in clean, cold water.
Machine washing is possible if the care label indicates it, but check that your machine has a “hand wash in cold water” cycle with a very gentle spin.
It is very important to follow these washing conditions; otherwise, your garment may lose its original shape.
Step 2: drying
Viscose prefers to dry on a hanger: it will thus retain its shape… And this may even save you the ironing step. When damp, it loses some of its fluidity. Don’t worry, it quickly regains its original texture.
Step 3: ironing
Viscose should be ironed on the reverse side and with great care: like silk, set the iron to setting 1 (110°C). It is at this stage that the viscose garment regains its original size if the washing conditions have been followed.
